Sun Hill was tasked to complete large scale 3D topographical surveys for multiple projects for the Cycleways Network in London. This required many teams of surveyors working together to complete the projects.

The aim of the projects was to produce highly accurate topographical surveys of the existing highway to allow design and constuction of the Cycleways Network. In total Sun Hill surveyed and delivered over 30km of topographical survey across the cycleways network.

Over a number of years Sun Hill completed highly accurate topographical surveys for a number of cycleway routes, these included Cycle Superhighway 1,4,6,7,8, Cycleway 2, 4 and Cycle Future Route 2. These cycleways all form part of the city wide cycleways network.

The cycleway network is designed to encourage more people to cycle in London by establishing segregating cycle lanes and improving the safety of cyclists.

Since the establishment of the Cycleways Network the number of people cycling in London has increased along with the number of users feeling safe during their journey.
