Thermal Analysis

Recording and measuring temperature variations allows us to easily locate problems which are otherwise invisible

Professional Services

Sun Hill uses 360° FLIR cameras mounted on our mobile mapping system to capture thermal images

Detect the invisible

Thermal images can detect many issues that would otherwise not be visible, these include water ingress, overheating equipment, solar panel damage and building energy efficiency.

High Speed Data Collection

As our thermal images are collected with our mobile mapping data the images are captured in 360° at road speed. The thermal images can then be combined with our mobile mapping point clouds to provide a 3D representation of the thermal anomalies.

Reduced Risk

The risk to our surveyors, traffic management crews and the wider public is reduced by the use of mobile mapping as all the work is carried out from the safety of our vehicle without any disruption to traffic flow.

Multiple Output Options

In addition to thermal images, the locations of thermal anomalies can be extracted from our point clouds to produce traditional 3D CAD drawings.

Sun Hill also provides online Web Services which enables thermal anomalies to be displayed with point clouds. These combined datasets can then be viewed remotely through a web browser - Learn more

Case Study

Hindhead Tunnel | Surrey

Sun Hill was tasked to undertake a thermal analysis survey of Hindhead Tunnel using the Leica Pegasus:Two mobile mapping unit with a thermal camera attachment.

The purpose of this survey was to determine whether water was leaking into the tunnel and to produce 3D drawings of the tunnels highlighting any location of water ingress.

By using our mobile mapping system, this project was able to be completed without any traffic management or closure of the tunnels.

This methodology therefore saved time, reduced the client’s cost, reduced the risk to our surveyors and was completed without any disruption to local traffic.
